Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation, so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate, we can not consecrate, we can not hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. I am beginning a new chapter in my life as an artist. This wiki will be devoted to my drawings of individual men and women that played a roll in the terrible Civil War in the United States in the 1860's. My plan is to create one new drawing per week for a year (50 - 52 drawings in all).

I do ask that you respect this wiki because it holds much personal value, not only for the artwork, but also as a memorial to those brave souls that fought, both the North and the South. Trash-talking will not be tolerated and will be immediately reported.

I just finished Jefferson Davis and I'm going to upload a cleaner scan of Lee tonight. I mentioned in a forum posting that it is my goal to complete one drawing a week for a year (50 - 52 drawings in all) for this particular wiki. Since it's going to be massive, I'll eventually divide everything into South and North and include some extra history, major battles, etc. beneath each portrait. Since my husband is Mr. History he can help me out with getting all of the facts straight. Hopefully anyone that watches this will not only see the artwork but maybe learn something as well. :)
